Mosaic’s CEO was so inspired by the Essex-based Kids Inspire charity that she dusted off her cycling gear and overhauled her racing bike ready to take part in the Kids Inspire 2023 Mile Cycle Challenge.

Karen, whose cycling has lapsed somewhat since the Covid outbreak, delivered strategy training to the charity’s comms team and decided, there and then, to throw her cycling helmet back in the ring and commit to raising some money for the charity.

She said: “Kids Inspire do so much to support children who are struggling with their mental health and the demand for their services has never been greater. Getting back on my bike for the 23-mile ride was a great way to show my support and I’m grateful to everyone who sponsored me to help me surpass my £500 target for this important service.”

Based in Chelmsford, Kids Inspire provides mental health and trauma recovery support for children, young people and their families. The charity offers a range of therapeutic and community activities to promote resilience, self-awareness and relationship building to empower more positive life choices.

Kids Inspire’s Communications and Marketing Manager Emily Patel said: “We’re thrilled Karen joined us for the bike ride. As it’s the year 2023, we’re hoping to raise at least £23,000 by cycling at least 2,023 miles as a team, in one day.”

The bike ride took place on Sunday 3 September, starting and finishing at the Kids Inspire HQ in Great Baddow taking in the Essex countryside around the picturesque Hanningfield Reservoir.
