Big congratulations to Huel for achieving B Corp status, something which Mosaic is working towards.

It’s no mean feat and would have taken a really concerted effort to achieve this, especially for a company of Huel’s size.

After working with Huel’s Co-founder, James Collier, Mosaic’s CEO Karen Ainley has been taking a close interest in Huel’s growth – and has become a fan of the company’s delicious drinks.

Huel’s mission is ‘to make nutritionally complete, convenient, affordable food, with minimal impact on animals and the environment.’

As an official Hueligan, Karen said: “I loved working with James and hearing his passion as a nutritionist for creating plant-based meals and nutritious drinks, and as a sustainable nutrition communicator. But it’s the company’s ethos that sets it apart from others.”

Huel’s commitment to being a sustainable business runs deep throughout the organisation. Their sustainability goals are to ensure that all the meals they produce are low carbon, all ingredients are low impact, all people are treated with respect, and that the company gives back through profit sharing and employee volunteering.

As James says: “It’s an ongoing process, but we firmly believe that it is possible to build a sustainable food system that nourishes both ourselves and the planet we live on.

“Being certified as a B Corp gives us a roadmap for continuous improvement, ensuring all our meals have a carbon footprint aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees, at the same time reducing environmental impact across every aspect of our business.

“It also underlines how we protect the human rights, welfare and livelihoods of our employees, suppliers and communities, and we will continue to do what we can to inspire and enable people to eat sustainably.”
