Mosaic is proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant this month, pledging our support to members of the armed forces community – both past and present –  to ensure they do not face disadvantages due to their service. This includes veterans, serving personnel and their families.

The covenant envisions a society were businesses, communities and the Government acknowledge and value the sacrifices made by military personnel and seek to provide them with fair treatment in various aspects of life, including employment, education, and healthcare.

By taking this step, we have made a clear statement about our values and commitment to supporting those who have dedicated their lives to serving their country. This commitment extends beyond mere words, as we now have a responsibility to actively implement measures that ensure the well-being of the armed forces community.

We join a community of organisations that value the contributions of our armed forces, which opens the door for collaboration and networking, fostering a sense of unity, pride, and shared purpose.

Commenting on Mosaic’s decision to sign, Chief Executive Karen Ainley said: “We actively seek opportunities that enable us to contribute to the well-being of society.

“Military personnel dedicate their working lives to protecting our well-being, so it seems only fair that we play our part in protecting theirs in return.

“It is well documented that transitioning from military to civilian life can be extraordinarily difficult and the effects of active warfare can be life changing.

“Additionally, children of serving personnel are often academically disadvantaged because they frequently move schools following redeployment. They also often have fewer opportunities for extra-curricular activities and can experience emotional and behavioural difficulties due to the deployment or return of a serving family member.

“Our decision to sign the Armed Forces Covenant is not just a single act—it is the beginning of a journey. We are hoping that other businesses will follow our example and step forward to contribute to the betterment of society.”
