Mosaic’s MD Gemma Rawlinson, a qualified yoga instructor, took some time out of her busy schedule to lead a children’s yoga session at the Essex Wildlife Trust’s Nature Nursery, located at the Trust’s headquarters at Abbots Hall Farm in Colchester.

Timing her volunteering to coincide with International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice, Gemma provided a free yoga class in the nursery’s beautiful meadow, with children having fun pretending to be frogs, lions, butterflies, trees, seeds and flowers. She said:

“It was really rewarding to support the nursery and see the children enjoying yoga, especially the animal themed poses. We finished the class with a short relaxation session bathing in the sunshine and sounds of nature – it was truly delightful!”

About the Nature Nursery

The Essex Wildlife Trust established its pioneering Nature Nursery as an outdoor nursery and has received a grading of Outstanding by Ofsted for its efforts.

The setting is nestled among 600 acres of beautiful countryside and children aged between two and five years of age are given the freedom to learn through nature. A typical day can include playing in woodland, exploring meadows, and growing vegetables – all within secure boundaries and supported by experienced early years staff.
